Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Okay, this is my very first Not Me! Monday post and I don't have many things to put it in...but here it goes...

This week I did not go to the grocery store and spend a lot of money on food that requires cooking, then I did not come straight home and order pizza. I would not be so lazy as to not cook all of the delicious food that I just bought. Nope, not me!

And while I was not at the grocery store I most certainly did not buy cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies, and powdered donuts for myself. I know that pregnancy is most certainly not a meal ticket to eat WHATEVER you want so I know for sure I would NOT buy all of that junk! (Oh, and I also did not hide these goodies from Ignacio, that would be so rude!)

While visiting my mother's house this weekend, my whole family and I did not rush outside when we heard fire trucks racing down our street. We are not a nosy family. Later, after we finished supper, we absolutely did not all hop in the car and DRIVE down the street so we could get a better look at the action....what kind of nosy people would do that?!
(Okay, okay...in our defense, we were definitely NOT the only people who did this...there were cars everywhere!)

Thanks for reading my Not Me! Monday post...stay tuned next week for more things I did not do!

A Lot of Work

I haven't blogged in a while because I feel like there's not much exciting stuff in my life to blog about....but here are some things that have happened this week.
Ignacio and I have been going to childbirth classes at the hospital here in Wichita Falls for 3 weeks now. He's been pretty good about paying attention but he says a lot of the medical terms are a little over his head. Tonight, however, was the class about the actual delivery, and of course, videos were involved. Ignacio has never really seen a tiny baby and he has never even held one much less seen one being born...so you can imagine that seeing a birthing video might be a little traumatic for him. I, however, am no stranger to this as I have gone through nursing school and seen several live births, as well as C-sections. Anyway, this video showed 3 deliveries and 1 C-section. And I could see him looking away at times, but for the most part I think he watched. Then after class, he said "Hmm, looks like a lot of work," and patted my shoulder. Thanks!!!
I have also been going to classes for expectant moms...it's not a class about the medical aspects of having a child, but more spiritual aspects of being a mom. It's taught by a local Geometry teacher, and I am really enjoying going to it every week. I think this class is an excellent opportunity for young pregnant women to hear and share experiences with others their own age, as well as older women who have been through it all. Most of the girls in the group are around my age and younger.
My due date is in mid-March and I keep telling my mom that he might come a little early, and she keeps saying "You absolutely cannot have him on March 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th...because that is TAKS!" She runs the show for TAKS testing at her school. I keep telling her that we can't tell the baby when to come and if he wants to come on one of those days, he will, and she'll just have to deal with it! I told her to tell her principal to have a stand-by TAKS giver just in case...but I don't think she did...
You'll just have to stay tuned to find out if she misses the TAKS test!
